Pieces Every College Fashionista Needs

Key Pieces that Every Fashionista Needs:  Amazing-Fashion-Tips-for-College-Going-Girls

American Apparel Cotton Spandex Jersey Halter Leotard
If ever a time you’re convinced you have nothing to wear, look no further. The American Apparel leotard has saved me from a mental breakdown many (MANY) times; it’s a go to, without a doubt. Reliable, comfortable, and easy (Am I subconsciously explaining everything my relationships are not… or…? Anyway…); you can throw this onesie on with just about anything and look effortlessly elegant. This bodysuit is only $25- which is a steal compared to the typical ridiculous prices of American Apparel (considering you still look just about naked, with their clothes on). A word from the wise: the low plunge of this neckline can be unflattering for some, by adding some duct tape (not kidding) to the sides of your boobs you will be given an undeniable “perk”… be flattered when people stare.   A Pair of Comfortable Black Heels
Every fashionista should have one pair of heels she knows she can rely on. As college students there are plenty of long, adventurous nights, where you know you’re in store for walking quite some distance. You NEVER want to be the girl walking barefoot because her shoes were “too painful” because, well: A) You look dumb B) You look drunk C) You ruined your outfit and D) (most obvious) You don’t know what you’re walking on. Don’t be the girl that has to be rushed to the hospital at 3 a.m. because she stepped on a piece of glass (dumbass, we told you to wear shoes). My recommendation when looking for a pair of comfortable black heels is to find a shoe with a thicker heel itself. By wearing a pair of wedge-like heels you are more evenly distributing your weight throughout your entire foot rather than one specific area. Two heels that I personally find comfortable are Jeffrey Campbell’s Lita boot and Steve Madden’s Prissy wedge.   A Chunky Necklace
So, you put on an outfit that you like and are about to head out for a night with the girls, but something just isn’t right. You feel comfortable in your outfit, but there’s no pop. A fashionista never wants to be just another face in the crowd, this is why it is essential to have at least one eye catching chunky necklace to add to an outfit you might call bland. By adding a chunky necklace to an outfit you are ensuring that you will catch the attention of others (side note, don’t expect a chunky necklace to catch the attention of a guy, guys rarely notice accessories; that is, unless the necklace is plunging into your cleavage). By simply adding a chunky necklace to an outfit you are layering the components of your outfit; adding a necklace gives the impression you have put a lot of effort into what you’re wearing- even if you haven’t. Never ever ever EVER wear a gold necklace with silver earrings, or a silver necklace with gold earrings- I literally want to die when I see people doing this. Stick to one color component, and work it. You can never go wrong with a chunky black and gold necklace, this combination is effortlessly elegant. I also suggest adding a colorful chunky necklace to an all black outfit, this small accessory is a game changer in the world of being a fashionista.
