What Not To Do When Hitting on a Girl

Some guys are smooth, mysterious, roll with the punches, and are simply irresistible. While on the other hand, some guys are clumsy, nervous, and not sure how to flirt with a girl without coming off like a fool or a creep. But you see, it’s really not difficult to flatter a girl. You just have to find that happy medium between being awkward and seeming thirsty.

So, for starters, if you’re a guy and you see a girl that you want to hit on don’t stare the floor or look at your drink while trying to make conversation. No eye contact is asking to be denied. Now, also don’t make hardcore eye contact where it seems as though you’re trying to look into her soul, but moderate eye contact is the key to success. It shows your confidence and true self.

Next, don’t be that guy that talks to a girl online (via Twitter, Facebook, Tinder, etc) but you completely ignore her in person. If you like a girl’s photos online and message her occasionally but don’t acknowledge her presence in person you can say ‘see ya.’ It’s honestly just weird and shows that you’re not confident.

Now let’s say you’re the complete opposite of the “no eye contact and no speaking guy” and you go in for the kill. You’re radiating confidence and you are all about hitting on this girl in hopes that she’ll like you too.. but you use cheesy pick up lines. Sorry guys but those don’t work. She may laugh but she’ll probably think you’re desperate.

The worst thing of all is being clingy. A guy that doesn’t know when to walk away or stop obsessively texting/drunk calling a girl is going to be labeled as a stage 5 clinger and you can say goodbye to having any chance with that girl or anyone that she knows. Because she will warn them about you.

It’s a fact that some guys are born to be players and have a way with words but any guy can pick up a girl! Just be confident yet cool and collected. Don’t get clingy and be yourself. if it’s meant to work out then it will and if it doesn’t just move on to the next one. That’s what college is all about anyway; living, learning, and having a great time.
